Visitors General Information

Customs
Passengers who have no articles to declare should use the “nothing to declare” channel and those having non-duty-free articles should use the “goods to declare” channel.
- Duty-free-articles
- Visitor’s (non-resident’s) goods which will be taken out of korea upon departure
- Goods totaling US$400 or less which were purchased or acquired outside korea
- One bottle (not over 1litres) of alcoholic beverages
- 200 cigarettes (50cigars or 250 grams of tobacco)
- 2 ounces of perfumes

Business Hours
Government office hours are from 09:00 to 18:00, although from November through February they close at 17:00. Most private businesses open at anywhere from 08:30 to 10:00 and close in the evening. Banking business hours, however, are from 09:30 to 16:30 on weekdays.

Foreign Exchange
It is advisable to change into Korean currency at Incheon International Airport. In downtown not all banks have foreign exchange service.

Mobile Phone Rental Service
GSM mobile phone are not compatable in korea which uses a different network. Korea mobile phones are available for rental at the Incheon airport. For more information please inquiry from local guide. 

Electrical System
Outlets for 220 volts 60 cycle are dominant. Always check the power supply before using you equipment

Credit Cards
Credit card, including VISA, American Express, Diner’s Club, Master Card and JCB are accepted at major hotels, department stores and large restaurant.

Personal Effects
In line with the government policy on environmental protection and reduce disposal items, most hotel do not provide for Tooth-brush, tooth-paste and shampoo. It is advisable to bring your own thermos flask if there are Children traveling along.

Domestic Tax
Value-added tax (VAT) is levied on most Goods & Services at a standard rate of 10% and is included in the retail price. For most hotels, food and beverages prices does not include the 10% SVC and 10% VAT.
